U.S. Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he’s “fully committed” to Bitcoin, and has put most of his wealth into the digital asset. RFK Jr. is arguably the most forward-thinking presidential candidate the US has seen regarding cryptocurrency. In a recent interview at the 2024 Bitcoin conference, RFK Jr said “I am a huge supporter of Bitcoin. I have most of my wealth in Bitcoin. I am fully committed.”

This year is set to be a tremendously important one for the United States. Specifically, it will see presidential elections occur, with a plethora of important political issues at the forefront of this election cycle. Among them is the growing prevalence of cryptocurrency, and the perspective that Capitol Hill has on the asset class.

In a post to X back in March, RFK Jr. called cryptocurrency the “best hedge against inflation.” Indeed, he discussed the importance of the freedom that the market can bring average Americans. He described its importance in taking control away from traditional banking entities.

At his recent Bitcoin conference appearance, the presidential candidate also aimed the Federal Reserve. RFK Jr said that the central bank had the interest of bankers, not the general public, at heart. “The relationship between Congress and the Fed is both parasitical to our country, and it’s a symbiotic relationship. The Fed is not a public institution … The decision-makers are appointed by the banking industry.”

RFK Jr holds BTC for himself and his children, a fact he confirmed shortly after last year’s Bitcoin conference. He has promised to end what he called a “White House war on Bitcoin” if he were to be elected president. Currently, Donald Trump and current VP Kamala Harris are the leading candidates, with Trump also pushing a pro-crypto campaign.
